This project is a visual and conceptual reimagining of Stonewall by Martin Duberman, a pivotal text chronicling the Stonewall Riots and the LGBTQ+ liberation movement. The redesign uses bold, gradient color palettes, striking typography, and archival imagery to capture the energy and urgency of queer activism.
The layout emphasizes themes of identity, resilience, and pride, with pages like “We are the Stonewall girls” celebrating community and defiance, while others, such as “Protect Trans Lives,” foreground modern intersections of activism. The inclusion of the iconic Stonewall Inn neon sign pays homage to the historical site, grounding the project in its revolutionary roots.
This redesign bridges the past and present, blending historical reflection with a call for ongoing advocacy and awareness.
